March 05 lost photos? worry no more!I came across this photo recovery software, I think this is a very useful tool for those great moments, captured but 'lost'.
check this out...
Adroit Photo Recovery is free to try, however, in order to view photos without
watermarks and to save photos you will need to purchase the product. This is a very good model for the consumer products as you know that the software is going to work
before you pay for it.
January 06 E=MC2 :)January 01 First day of 2009Today we took Jahnavi to Siva's. We were invited for a NY's family lunch. We were late but was good to meet everyone. We played some games on Wii, enjoyed the food and company of bruno and lola. I enjoyed the tennis, mario kart and boxing. Vasu only managed to play a bit of bowling and the olympics. Trinadh was the star player of bowling. Our 5 month old was not behaving well though, she was fine initially but then let her screams out a few times and mum had to give comfort feeds to calm down our little monkey. She was back and forth between living and the bed rooms. Lola was eagerly following and trying to figure out why this little one is crying. She would be happy and playful for a while and then will need that special attention again. Anyway I did manage to get her all laughing for a few minutes just before leaving. It was too late to capture that on video. Next time :) Got to tell you, Jahnavi was laughing her heads off last night. I was just talking to Vasu and she started laughing to my talk, so I continued the pace and for about 5 minutes her laughing filled our hearts with joy. Today, She and her cocoon were blessed by lola :) We were home and settled by 9pm. oh BTW, Special thanks to siva aunty for organising her pentavite last week. December 31 Last day of the year and ...I have finally managed to spend some time to get something I always wanted going for me...yes I managed to get a Dynamic status message happening for my Live Messenger...and it uses the computer's clock and appends the msg with the current date and time every 30 seconds or so :) I used these resources from http://messenger.mslivelabs.com/samples/ the "Hello World" sample is pretty good. Just some javascript and I got something going..you should try it too... oh BTW, I just turned that into a very useful NY count down timer :) December 28 The day the Earth stood stillI went to watch the latest Keanu Reeves movie last night. It was released on boxing day in Australia. Along with a the few funny dialogues, The mechanical locust storms and the drones flights were the only scenes I liked. The movie nails a point home - humans have to change/evolve to survive (global warming). December 16 xobni rocks!thanks to Liam, I am now a xobni user. Xobni, reverse for inbox is an Outlook add-in that allows you to not only index and search your emails across multiple pst's (SSW had a free tool for this many years ago) but has interesting email intelligence tools integrated with it. You can figure out who is your number one contact based on email traffic, other network of people, times at which you are getting messages from certain people, etc. I think a server version of the tool is probably MS would want to plug into Exchange for their Social networking features. September 29 twitter? facebook? blogs?September 07 Happy Fathers DayToday I celebrated my 1st fathers day. I started the day with wishing some of my mates who were also celebrating father's day :) We also had a get-together at home for celebrating Jahnavi's 1st month. This is a traditional ceremony and all the family was here. It was fun. We all enjoyed the day. Pics to come...right Elias? :) Vas happy 10th anniversary ;) September 02 Google Chrome is coming..... (it is here already) http://www.google.com/search?q=chrome it is here now http://www.google.com/chrome I downloaded it and got it running smoothly but, I am unhappy that its rendering of image tag with widh attributes in % does not work well for my blog :( both IE and Firefox are rendring ok but not chrome! not happy Jan! BTW, they have copied the IE8's home tab page preview feature... the download and install was a snap - the fastest installation of a browser I have come across, I think it was quicker than firefox's install experience. Looks like there are more goodies comes with it and I need to play a bit more. August 24 Meaning of JahnaviHere's what I found on Wiki:
Another name that Ganga is known by is Jahnavi. Story has it that once Ganga came down to earth, on her way to Bhagiratha, her rushing waters created turbulence and destroyed the fields and the sadhana of a sage called Jahnu. He was angered by this and drank up all of Ganga's waters. Upon this, the Gods prayed to Jahnu to release Ganga so that she could proceed on her mission. Pleased with their prayers, Jahnu released Ganga (her waters) from his ears. Hence the name "Jahnavi" (daughter of Jahnu) for Ganga.
Ok, so who is jahnavi? http://srikantha.wordpress.com/2008/07/31/hello-world-youve-got-news/

March 23 IE 8 Beta and things...Just installed the IE8 beta and playing around with it... Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 website does not render well with IE8 - needs IE7 emulation. wondering whether I could configure IE8 to load a particular site in an IE7 emulator mode all the time. Ofcourse at the moment this can't happen as it either runs in IE7 emulation or IE8 mode..shame..hopefully this will be picked up and enhanced. Perhaps IE8 should just do this automatically , should detect and allow user to change mode, like in VS.NET multi platform targeting :) I am also test driving "SKyDrive" and playing with stuff on my 64 bit Vista Ultimate - things such as SP1 :) and OneCare... noticed one thing that I can't get the green status light on OneCare as it insists that I should have windows update set to "auto" :( January 03 Sharepoint History Here's a post by Joel on sharepoint history http://blogs.msdn.com/joelo/archive/2007/12/28/7-years-of-sharepoint-a-history-lesson.aspx some good comments too. January 01 Plans for 2008! Welcome 2008! A happy new year to all. I am back to work straight on a plane to meet partners and kick off the year with a bang. looking forward to it. Perth, here I come! |
