In the last 4 weeks I have been working on projects remotely. The experience was interesting as I am working with people on projects using MSN, livemeeting, webinars and lots of emails. The experience was very possitive. We were able to get the technology working and cost effectively and conveniently we worked to achieve our goals. sure, we had our issues relating to time zones, livemeeting/webinaar/VOIP performance hickups. but, the technologies are mature now and people are used to them. we are now confortable with offline MSN messages, livemeetings and VOIP, we get the job done coordinating activities between melbourne, london, adelaide and canberra. while working on 2 of these projects I also worked on 3 support issues, attended sharepoint conference and made a few customer call outs as well. May be my days of being on a few flights every week is coming to an end for good

Singapore has already amazed me in many ways... tamil is truly an official language here..cleaner greener and efficent city/state. trains are cooler than melb. and.. i liked the instant milk tea ... china town and little india .. glad i have met with senthu and sutha. 

I have attended the Innovation 2006 Event here in Melbourne yesterday. It was at Crown towers. Microsoft showcased Vista and Office 12 - mainly Sharepoint. I attended sessions from Angus Logan and John Hodgson.

 

gogin through the beta software, it looks like V3 is a killer app. It has a records store. WF support and a lot of most wanted features - Item level security, recycle bin and master pages. now web part dev is a breeze. awesome.

 

K2.NET is doing some good work on top of WF as well. Cannot wait for the RTM of these products and my next project :)
